Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE 57 INPATIENT BED HOSPITAL OPERATES IN A RURAL AREA. FOR FISCAL PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2021, TO DECEMBER 31, 2021, THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ADMISSIONS WERE 1,668. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS WERE 18,410. THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES CHARITY CARE TO PATIENTS WHO MEET CERTAIN CRITERIA UNDER ITS CHARITY CARE POLICY. THE HOSPITAL DOES NOT PURSUE COLLECTION OF AMOUNTS DETERMINED TO BE CHARITY CARE. AT DEKALB MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, INC., OUR INVESTMENTS IN STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH TOP FAMILY PHYSICIANS AND SPECIALTY GROUPS MEAN THAT YOU NEVER HAVE TO LOOK PAST DEKALB COUNTY FOR THE VERY BEST CARE. WE HAVE FORGED NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH PARKVIEW HEALTH ALONG WITH PHYSICIAN GROUPS, SO THAT PEOPLE IN OUR REGION NOW HAVE ACCESS TO ALMOST EVERY MEDICAL SPECIALTY RIGHT HERE ON OUR CAMPUS.WE HAVE ALSO MADE SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENTS IN NEW TECHNOLOGY, SUCH AS A STATE-OF-THE-ART MONITORING SYSTEM FOR CRITICALLY ILL PATIENTS. THE HOSPITAL HAS INVESTED IN AN INNOVATIVE INFANT SECURITY MONITORING SYSTEM AS WELL AS A NEW PATIENT CALL LIGHT SYSTEM THAT INCLUDES RF TECHNOLOGY. DURING THE PANDEMIC, THE FACILITY INVESTED IN ADDITIONAL SAFETY BARRIERS THROUGHOUT THE HOSPITAL TO KEEP PATIENTS AND COWORKERS SAFE. THE FACILITY EXPANDED NEGATIVE PRESSURE ROOMS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE SAFEST CARE FOR COVID-19 PATIENTS. THE HOSPITAL ALSO EXPANDED ITS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SAFE SPACE TO TREAT PATIENTS NEEDING CARE DURING THE PANDEMIC. MOST IMPORTANTLY, OUR PEOPLE CONTINUE TO DISTINGUISH THEMSELVES AS THE MOST COMPASSIONATE CAREGIVERS YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE, AND WE CONTINUE TO DONATE TIME AND RESOURCES IN SUPPORT OF SCHOOLS, BUSINESSES, AND ORGANIZATIONS TO ENSURE A STRONG, HEALTHY COMMUNITY. MARTIN'S HEALTH CARE CLINIC AND IN-KIND DONATIONS FOR BICYCLE HELMET INITIATIVES FOR THE JAM CENTER AND THE GREATER GARRETT GROUP. WE ALSO SUPPORTED THE WOMEN'S CARE CENTER BY PROVIDING PRENATAL VITAMINS AND INFANT SUPPLIES AND FLU VACCINES THROUGH THE DEKALB COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
