ONE OF SERUG'S PRIMARY ACTIVITIES IS TO SPONSOR TWO MEETINGS PER YEAR, THE SPRING CONFERENCE AND THE FALL BUSINESS MEETING. THESE MEETINGS PROVIDE BOTH EDUCATIONAL AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS. DURING THE SPRING CONFERENCE, EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS ARE CONDUCTED BY MEMBERS AS WELL AS PRACTICING CLINICIANS AND PHYSICIANS FROM HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. THE TOPICS FOCUS PRIMARILY ON BEST PRACTICES AND THE PROFESSIONALS' EXPERIENCES WITH THE MEDICAL SOFTWARE IN ORDER TO PROMOTE THE COMMON BUSINESS INTEREST OF THE MEMBERS OF SERUG. SPECIFICALLY, THE SPRING CONFERENCE HAS THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES: PROVIDES A FACILITATED OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS TO EXCHANGE INFORMATION ABOUT ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS, SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION, MAINTENANCE AND UTILIZATION; SERVES AS A RESOURCE FOR LEARNING, PROBLEM RESOLUTION, AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS IN THE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY; AND ENABLES LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING NURSES AND PHYSICIANS, TO OBTAIN REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL CREDITS.
