PREPARING MEN AND WOMEN ON GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AND THOSE RE-ENTERING SOCIETY FROM THE JAILS AND PRISONS TO BE TRAINED FOR MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
SECURING, MAINTAINING AND RETENTION OF EMPLOYMENT FOR HIGH RISK INDIVIDUALS. LIBERTY'S DOOR PROGRAM-BIBLICALLY BASED PROGRAM INTENDED TO MOVE FORMERLY IMPRISONED PEOPLE OFF WELFARE BY PREPARING THEM FOR EMPLOYMENT AND THE RETENTION OF EMPLOYMENT. THE WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM IS A COMPONENT OF THE OHIO WORKS FIRST INITIATIVE OF THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES. HELPING WELFARE RECIPIENTS BECOME EMPLOYED AND SELF-SUFFICIENT OCCURS THROUGH THE WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM BY LINKING THESE INDIVIDUAL RECIPIENTS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES IN NEED OF LABOR RESOURCES. WE UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR ENTRY-LEVEL EMPLOYEES TO POSSESS REAL LIFE SKILLS, WHICH MANY OF THEM LACK BEFORE ENTERING OUR PROGRAM. WHETHER IT'S WORKING TOGETHER AS A TEAM, CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, OR COMMUNICATION, THE TRANSFORMATION NETWORK'S PROVEN CURRICULUM WILL HELP IMPROVE THE SKILLS OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS. OUR COMMUNITY TECH CENTER (CTC) OFFERS A CAREER EXPLORATION AND ASSESSMENT FACILITY THAT WAS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A HANDS-ON LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS SEEKING TO DEVELOP NEW SKILLS NECESSARY FOR A CAREER IN MANUFACTURING, AS WELL AS MANUFACTURERS SEEKING A TRAINING OPTION FOR THEIR CURRENT AND FUTURE WORKFORCE.
