TO PROMOTE AND PROVIDE TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE INVOLVED WITH DELIVERY OF FINANCIAL AID TO COLLEGE STUDENTS; TO ADVOCATE AND SUPPORT FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS; TO FACILITATE COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION AMONG PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD OCTOBER 16-19, 2022 IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN WITH OVER 250 PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING PAST PRESIDENTS WHO RETURNED FOR THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY. PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED TRAINING ON VARIOUS FINANCIAL AID TOPICS TO HELP ADMINISTERING STUDENT AID AND REMAINING COMPLIANT, FEDERAL UPDATES AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICE PROJECTS


SUMMER INSTITUTE AND LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM PROVIDED EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION ON VARIOUS TOPICS RELATED TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF STUDENT FINANCIAL AID. THE EVENT WAS HELD JUNE 6-9, 2022 IN ELKHART LAKE, WISCONSIN AND HAD CLOSE TO 100 ATTENDEES INCLUDING THE FACULTY.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROVIDED VARIOUS VIRTUAL WEBINARS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, INCLUDING WORK ENVIRONMENT IMPACTS FROM COVID-HYBRID, IN PERSON, REMOTE OPERATIONS; MASFAA BOARD AND CO-CHAIRS INFORMATIONAL PANEL; AN INSIDERS PERSPECTIVE OF NEGOTIATED RULEMAKING; EXPANDING YOUR LEADERSHIP TOOLKIT; UNDERSTANDING SOFT SKILLS AND LEARNING TO APPLY THEM; NASFAA CERTIFIED FINANCIAL AID ADMINISTRATOR INFORMATIONA PANEL; AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IN HIGHER EDUCATION.
