PETCO LOVE IS A MISSION TO END PREVENTABLE EUTHANASIA OF SHELTER AND COMMUNITY OWNED PETS BY EMPOWERING ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH GRANT INVESTMENTS THAT MAKE THE MOST IMPACT AND BY CREATING NATIONAL SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY NEEDS IMPACTING THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS. PETCO LOVES GRANT INVESTMENT ACTIVITIES SEEK TO EMPOWER THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE THE MOST PRODUCTIVE AND EFFECTIVE IN ACCOMPLISHING THEIR MISSION AS DETERMINED THROUGH A DECISION MODEL DESIGNED TO EVALUATE AND ASSESS ORGANIZATIONS ALONGSIDE THEIR PEERS.SAVING PET LIVES: PETCO LOVE FUNDS ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TO END THE EUTHANASIA OF SHELTER ANIMALS BY REUNITING LOST PETS WITH THEIR FAMILIES OR FINDING HOMES FOR THOSE IN NEED. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE CARING FOR THE ANIMALS TEMPORARILY, INCLUDING FINDING FOSTER FAMILIES WHERE PETS ARE CARED FOR, AND PREPARING THE ANIMALS MEDICALLY AND BEHAVIORALLY IN PREPARATION FOR ADOPTION. PETCO LOVE SUPPORTS LARGE SCALE ADOPTION EVENTS SEEKING TO REACH POTENTIAL PET PARENTS AND INCREASE VISIBILITY ABOUT THE SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. PETCO LOVE PARTNERS WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT TRANSPORT PETS FROM AREAS OF THE COUNTRY MORE IN NEED TO AREAS THAT HAVE A GREATER NUMBER OF POTENTIAL ADOPTERS. PETCO LOVE ALSO PARTNERS WITH PETCO ANIMALS SUPPLIES TO PROVIDE ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS WITH SPACE AND A VENUE IN PETCO STORES TO PROVIDE GREATER COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND SHOWCASE THE WONDERFUL ADOPTABLE PETS TO POTENTIAL ADOPTERS. SOME STORES HAVE ADOPTION CENTERS WITH HOUSING WHERE PETS STAY AND ARE CARED FOR UNTIL ADOPTION. ACCESS TO CARE: PETCO LOVE ALSO SUPPORTS A VARIETY OF ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST PET PARENTS TO CARE FOR PETS IN NEED BY PROVIDING VETERINARY CARE, INCLUDING WELLNESS CARE, SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES, EMERGENCY AND OTHER MEDICAL CARE, AND VACCINES, AND OTHER PET CARE NEEDS LIKE, MICROCHIPPING, BEHAVIOR REHABILITATION SERVICES AND FOOD AND OTHER PET CARE SUPPORT. PETCO LOVE ALSO LAUNCHED A 1 MILLION FREE VACCINE CAMPAIGN IN AUGUST OF 2021 TO ASSURE THAT PETS DO NOT SUFFER AND DIE NEEDLESSLY FROM PREVENTABLE DISEASES, AND TO DATE HAS PROVIDED OVER 950,000 VACCINES TO BE PROVIDED TO PETS IN NEED. REUNITING LOST PETS: PETCO LOVE LAUNCHED PETCO LOVE LOST IN APRIL 2020, A NATIONAL LOST AND FOUND DATABASE UTILIZING PET IMAGE RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY TO REUNITE LOST PETS WITH THEIR FAMILIES. PETCO LOVE IS WORKING TO ESTABLISH THE GO-TO NATIONAL SOLUTION TO REUNITE LOST PETS BY UPLOADING A PHOTO AND CONNECTING PET PARENT AND FINDER. SINCE JULY 2021, PETCO LOVE LOST HAS REUNITED MORE THAN 10,000 LOST PETS WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND HAS HELPED COUNTLESS OTHERS BY PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO REUNITE LOST PETS. DISASTER SUPPORT: PETCO LOVE RESPONDS TO DISASTERS LIKE FIRES, FLOODS, EARTHQUAKES, HURRICANES AND OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS, AFFECTING ANIMALS AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM. PETCO LOVES DISASTER RESPONSE INCLUDES PROVIDING SUPPORT IN PREPARATION, DURING AND AFTER DISASTERS WITH PRODUCTS AND GRANTS TO CARE FOR PETS AND REBUILD FROM DESTRUCTION.PET CANCER SUPPORT: FOR MORE THAN TEN YEARS, PETCO LOVE HAS RAISED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO SUPPORT PET CANCER TREATMENT, AWARENESS AND RESEARCH. PETCO LOVE SUPPORTS UNIVERSITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ASSISTING PET OWNERS WHO ARE FINANCIALLY UNABLE TO AFFORD PET CANCER TREATMENT. ADDITIONALLY, PETCO LOVE HAS A SHELTER PET CANCER FUND TO SUPPORT TREATMENT OF SHELTER PETS WITH CANCER. PETCO LOVE ALSO FUNDS UNIVERSITIES AND ORGANIZATION FOR RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES, PREVENTION, AND TREATMENT OF PET CANCER. PETCO LOVE RAISES AWARENESS ABOUT THE WARNING SIGNS OF CANCERS TO PROVIDED PET OWNERS WITH INFORMATION TO MINIMIZE THE RISK. SERVICE AND THERAPY ANIMALS: THROUGH THE HELPING HEROES CAMPAIGN, PETCO LOVE SUPPORTS AMERICAS AMAZING SERVICE ANIMALS WHO DEDICATE THEIR LIVES TO HELPING PEOPLE IN THEIR CARE. PETCO LOVE SUPPORTS A VARIETY OF SERVICE AND THERAPY ANIMAL EFFORTS PRIORITIZING THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE SAVING SHELTER PETS AND TRAINING THEM FOR SERVICE TO OTHERS.FUNDING FOR PETS IMPACTED BY GLOBAL CRISIS. PETCO LOVES PRIMARY MISSION IS FOCUSED GEOGRAPHICALLY IN THE UNITED STATES. HOWEVER, UPON CERTAIN EXTRAORDINARY EVENT, PETCO LOVE MAY FROM RAISE AND DISTRIBUTE FUNDS SPECIFICALLY TO HELP PETS IMPACTED BY GLOBAL CRISES. IN EARLY 2022, PETCO LOVE RAISED AND PROVIDED $1 MILLION IN ASSISTANCE TO ORGANIZATIONS HELPING PETS AND PET FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE WAR IN UKRAINE. FUNDS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AIDING SHELTERS, RESCUES, AND PET FAMILIES FLEEING THE WAR-TORN COUNTRY AND TO SUPPORT FUTURE RECOVERY EFFORTS AND NEEDS AS THEY ARISE.
