TO ESTABLISH, MAINTAIN AND CONDUCT A SOCIAL CLUB, TO PROMOTE FRATERNAL, INTELLECTUAL, AND SOCIAL INTERCOURSE AMONG ITS MEMBERS, AND TO PROVIDE SUCH FORMS OF RECREATION, AMUSEMENT, AND ENTERTAINMENT, AS APPERTAIN TO THE USUAL CONDUCT OF A SOCIAL CLUB.

GRAND BALL HELD EACH APRIL IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE HOLIDAY IN DIXIE FESTIVAL IN SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA TO CELEBRATE THE ARRIVAL OF SPRING AND THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE, WHICH OCCURRED APRIL 30, 1883. A COURT IS MADE UP OF COLLEGE AGE CHILDREN OF THE MEMBERS THAT ARE CELEBRATED AS WELL. THE FIRST COTILLION BALL WAS HELD BACK IN 1949. IT IS HELD IN SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA. THIS ACTIVITY HAS 85 PERCENT OF THE CLUB'S TIME AND EXPENSES DEVOTED TO IT. THIS ACTIVITY IS FUNDED THROUGH COSTUME AND PRESENTATION FEES, AS WELL AS COURT AND ROYAL MEMBERSHIP DUES. IT ALLOWS ALL MEMBERS TO CELEBRATE THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE AS WELL AS SOCIALIZE WITH EACH OTHER AND FAMILY MEMBERS. THE GROSS RECEIPTS FROM PROGRAM RELATED ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS THE EXPENSES FOR PROGRAM SERVICES ALL RELATE TO THE GRAND BALL AND JESTERS AS DESCRIBED PREVIOUSLY IN THIS APPLICATION. THE INCOME IS FOR PRESENTATION AND COSTUME FEES. THE MAJOR EXPENSES ARE FOR COSTS SUCH AS COSTUMES, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND PRINTING.
