SCADP PLANNED AND LED A MULTI-DAY SPEAKING TOUR ACROSS SOUTH CAROLINA CALLED THE PALMETTO JOURNEY OF HOPE. THIS 3-DAY SPEAKING TOUR THROUGH CHARLESTON COLUMBIA AND GREENVILLE FEATURED VOICES AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY FROM THE PERSPECTIVES OF A CAPITAL DEFENSE LAWYER A MURDER VICTIM FAMILY MEMBER A DEATH ROW FAMILY MEMBER A FORMER COUNSELOR TO DEATH ROW AND A FORMERLY INCARCERATED PERSON ON DEATH ROW. THIS EVENT IS MEANT TO RE-HUMANIZE THOSE DIRECTLY IMPACTED BY CAPITAL PUNISHMENT AND MOBILIZE COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH EDUCATION TO ADVOCATE AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY. THE MAIN EXPENSES FOR THIS EVENT WERE TRAVEL COSTS PUBLICITY AND HONORARIUMS
SUPPLIED JUSTICE WORK SUPERVISION AND COACHING TRAVEL AND EDUCATION TO 2 SUMMER INTERNS ONE UNDERGRAD AND ONE DIVINITY SCHOOL STUDENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SCCAC. SUPPORT INCLUDED SPONSORSHIP TO THE STARVIN FOR JUSTICE EVENT IN DC BRINING IN SPEAKERS AND AN DEATH PENALTY JUSTICE IMMERSION EVENT IN CHARLESTON.
ON JANUARY 11 2022 SCADP HELD A VIRTUAL RALLY FOR THE 36TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST EXECUTION IN SOUTH CAROLINA AFTER THE DEATH PENALTY WAS REINSTATED ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE MAIN EXPENSES FOR THIS EVENT INCLUDED HONORARIUMS. ON APRIL 27TH SCADP HELD AN IN-PERSON PRESS CONFERENCE AND RALLY AT THE STATE CAPITAL IN COLUMBIA SC TO VOICE OPPOSITION TO TO THE EXECUTION OF RICHARD MOORE. THE MAIN EXPENSES FOR THIS EVENT WERE HONORARIUMS AND POSTERS. SCADP ALSO ATTENDED PREPARED FOR AND PARTICIPATED IN OTHER EVENTS THROUGHOUT 2022.
