THE MISSION OF THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY CANCER FOUNDATION IS TO FOSTER HOPE THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF CANCER PATIENTS, EDUCATION AND PREVENTION.

THE FOUNDATION ASSISTS CANCER PATIENTS UNDERGOING TREATMENT WITH SHORT TERM FINANCIAL CARE IN YAMHILL, TILLAMOOK AND LINCOLN COUNTIES. FUNDS ARE USED TO PROVIDE NECESSARY EXPENSES SUCH AS HEALTH INSURANCE, RENT, GROCERIES & TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM TREATMENT IN AN EFFORT TO HELP PATIENTS GET BACK ON THEIR FEET FROM THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF MEDICAL CARE. THE FOUNDATION FUNDED GRANTS TO 120 PATIENTS IN NEED FOR 2021. WITH THE HELP OF MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKERS AND CASE MANAGERS IN THE FOUNDATION'S SERVICE AREA, STAFF IS ABLE TO ENSURE CLIENT'S NEEDS ARE BEING MET WITH RESOURCES AND INFORMATION REGARDING THEIR DIAGNOSIS. ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION STAFF PROVIDES THE COMMUNITY WITH AN ASSORTMENT OF INFORMATION ON ALL CANCERS THROUGH AWARENESS AND PREVENTION EVENTS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO BRINGS AWARENESS TO MANY TYPES OF PREVENTABLE CANCERS BY FEATURING PHYSICIAN SPEAKERS AT COMMUNITY EVENTS AND FUNDRAISERS.
