THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO TRAIN MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN ADULT AND CHILD PSYCHOANALYSIS AND PHYSCHOTHERAPY METHODS. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES INCLUDE MAINTAINING AN ACCREDITED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM TO TRAIN PSYCHOANALYSTS, PROVIDING MULTI-YEAR COURSES TO TRAIN MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN PSYCHOANALYTIC AND PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC TECHNIQUES, PROVIDING OTHER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, AND MAINTAINING A PSYCHOANALYTIC-FOCUSED LIBRARY.

EDUCATION: FULL ACADEMIC-YEAR COURSES WERE PROVIDED FOR TWO PSYCHOANALYST TRAINING PROGRAMS (ANALYTIC TRAINING PROGRAM AND CHILD ANALYTIC TRAINING PROGRAM) AND TWO TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (ADVANCED PSYCHOTHERAPY PROGRAM, AND CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOTHERAPY PROGRAM), SERVING 29 STUDENTS AND CANDIDATES TAKING APP, ATP, ATP POST 5 & CATP DURING THE YEAR. WE HAD 16 TAKE CAPP COURSES, WHICH WERE OFFERED IN 6 TO 8 WEEK SEMNINAR FORM DURING THE YEAR. ALSO DURING THE YEAR PREVIOUS GRADUATES PARTICIPATED IN A COURSE DESIGNED TO MAINTAIN THE SKILLS LEARNED IN THE CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOTHERAPY PROGRAM.
LIBRARY: THE INSTITUTE MAINTAINS THE FREDERIC T. KAPP MEMORIAL LIBRARY CONTAINING OVER 3,500 VOLUMES OF PSYCHOANALYTIC- AND PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC-RELATED WRITINGS, JOURNALS, AND RESEARCH. THE LIBRARY IS STAFFED BY A DEGREED LIBRARIAN, AND SERVES OVER 80 MEMBERS, INCLUDING FACULTY, CANDIDATES, AND STUDENTS OF THE INSTITUTE.
LECTURES, WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS: THE INSTITUTE UNDERTAKES THE SPONSORSHIP AND PRESENTATION OF VARIOUS LECTURES, MULTISESSION STUDY GROUPS, SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS, AND OTHER EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO PROVIDE FURTHER EXPERTISE AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH TO MEMBERS, CANDIDATES, STUDENTS, PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES AND STUDENTS, AND MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS THROUGHOUT THE REGION. DURING THE YEAR, THE INSTITUTE SPONSORED: 7 SUCH EVENTS.
