TOGETHER AS ONE, THE OHIO AFL-CIO UNITES HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF WORKING FAMILIES ACROSS OHIO TO ADVANCE MIDDLE CLASS AND WORKING CLASS VALUES BY PROMOTING SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE. WE JOIN TOGETHER OVER 650,00 UNION MEMBERS TO MAKE OUR VOICE HEARD IN THE POLICY AND POLITICAL ARENAS. THE OHIO AFL-CIO REPRESENTS 1,600 LOCAL UNIONS ACROSS THE STATE FROM 48 DIFFERENT INTERNATIONAL UNIONS. WE ARE FIREFIGHTERS AND FACTORY WORKERS, ELECTRICIANS AND EDUCATORS, PLUMBERS AND POSTAL WORKERS, MINERS AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES- AND WE STAND TOGETHER AS ONE WITH THE OHIO AFL-CIO.

ADVANCE LEGISLATIVE AND POLITICAL PROGRAMS THAT LEAD TO POLICIES THAT BENEFIT WORKING FAMILIES AND THE TRADE UNION MOVEMENT, INCLUDING DRAFTING LEGISLATION, DIRECT LOBBYING, PROMOTING BALLOT INITIATIVES SUPPORTING CANDIDATES AND CAMPAIGNS IN THE PURSUIT OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE.


CONDUCT CONFERENCES, SCHOOLS & SUCH TRAINING/EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES YEAR ROUND TO EDUCATE AND INFORM OUR MEMBERS IN SUBJECTS SUCH AS WORKERS COMPENSATION, SAFETY AND HEALTH, CIVIL RIGHTS & COMMUNITY SERVICES.


COMMUNICATE WITH AND ACTIVATE OUR MEMBERSHIP THROUGH WRITTEN LETTERS, MEMOS, WEBSITE ARTICLES, SOCIAL MEDIA, TEXT AND EMAIL ALERTS, PERIODIC PUBLICATIONS, RALLIES AND PERSONAL APPEARANCES ON THE ISSUES IMPORTANT TO WORKING FAMILIES AND THE TRADE UNION MOVEMENT AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL LEVELS.
