THE OHBA IS A 4,500 MEMBER TRADE ASSOCIATION SERVING HOME BUILDERS, REMODELERS, LAND DEVELOPERS, AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERS PROMOTING AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL OHIOANS. OHBA SERVES ITS MEMBERSHIP THROUGH EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGING PROACTIVE INVOLVEMENT ON STATE ISSUES IMPACTING THE PRODUCTION OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING. OHBA SERVES ITS MEMBERS AS THE VOICE OF THE BUILDING AND LAND DEVELOPMENT INDUSTRY ON A STATE LEVEL.

IT ALSO EDUCATED OTHER STAKEHOLDERS SUCH AS GOVERNMENTAL REGULATORS IN MATTERS INVOLVING BUILDING CODES, UTILITY LINE EXTENSIONS, CONTRACTOR LICENSING, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND CONSUMER SALES PRACTICE LAW MATTERS. OHBA FILED AMICUS BRIEFS IN COURT CASES INVOLVING RETROACTIVELY INVALIDATING BUILDING PERMITS AND AN APPROVED DEVELOPMENT PLAN. OHBA ALSO CO-ORDINATED A GROUP DISCOUNT RATING PROGRAM FOR WORKERS COMPENSATION COVERAGE OF MEMBERS, AND CO- ORDINATED EFFORTS OF 23 LOCAL HOME BUILDER ASSOCIATIONS WITHIN OHIO.
