THE JESSYE NORMAN SCHOOL OF THE ARTS IS AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM DESIGNED TO DEVELOP AND NURTURE THE ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE TALENTS OF STUDENTS. THE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS SERVES THE CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF THESE TRADITIONALLY UNDER-SERVED YOUTH.

THE JESSYE NORMAN SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (JNSA) IS AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CONCENTRATED STUDY OF THE FINE ARTS. THE MISSION OF THE JNSA IS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL QUALITY FINE ARTS INSTRUCTION FOR GIFTED AND TALENTED CHILDREN WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED. THE SCHOOL OPENED IN SEPTEMBER 2003. CHILDREN AUDITION TO ATTEND THE SCHOOL, AND THERE IS NO TUITION CHARGED. THE SCHOOL IS SUPPORTED BY AN ACTIVE ADVISORY BOARD FROM THE COMMUNITY, A PARENT GROUP WHICH INVOLVES PARENTS WITH THE SCHOOL, AND A FRIENDS GROUP WHICH PROVIDES SUPPORT AND FUNDRAISING. THE JESSYE NORMAN SCHOOL ACTIVELY ENGAGES MORE THAN 500 PEOPLE IN POSITIVE ACADEMIC AND ARTS ENRICHMENT OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN.
