TO ENHANCE AND TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING CONDITIONS FOR THE LOW-TO-MODERATE INCOME PEOPLE IN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA THROUGH SOCIAL SERVICES, EDUCATION AND HOUSING.

CHILDREN PROGRAMS - AS THE PANDEMIC CONTINUED TO HINDER CHILDREN'S LEARNING AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN 2021, THE ANNAM COMMUNITY CENTER CREATED SEVERAL YOUTH PROGRAMS. DURING SUMMER CAMP, THE CENTER INVITED 350 KIDS AGED 8 TO 14 YEARS OLD AND COORDINATED GROUP READINGS, BASIC GARDENING, CAMPING, GAMES, AND ENTERTAINMENT. IN OCTOBER, THE CENTER ALSO ORGANIZED A HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR OVER 500 KIDS. LASTLY, THE CENTER DISTRIBUTED TOYS TO MORE THAN 600 LOW INCOME FAMILIES DURING THE HOLIDAYS.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION/COMMUNITY GARDEN - ANNAM IS A TRUSTED AGENCY OF THE HOUSTON FOOD BANK, WHICH IS THE LARGEST NATIONWIDE FOOD DISTRIBUTION IN THE UNITED STATES. WITH ITS NUMEROUS VOLUNTEERS, ANNAM WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN AND EVEN EXCEED ITS FOOD AND ESSENTIAL GOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM FOR THOSE IN NEED. IN 2021, THE CENTER DISTRIBUTED 3,500,000 LBS. OF FOOD TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THE CENTER SEES THE IMMENSE VALUE OF GROWING AND EATING LOCALLY SOURCED PRODUCE. THE COMMUNITY GARDEN NOT ONLY FEEDS MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY BUT ALSO BRINGS THEM TOGETHER AND TEACHES THEM NEW SKILLS. IN 2021, THE COMMUNITY GARDEN PROVIDED 24,500 LBS. OF PRODUCE FOR ALL NUTRITIONAL PROGRAMS AT THE CENTER.
COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE - THE CENTER PROVIDED BASIC HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY, WHETHER INSURED OR NOT, SUCH AS BLOOD TESTS, IMMUNIZATIONS, FLU SHOTS, COVID 19 SHOTS, AND MAMMOGRAMS.
