CONSTRUCTION OF NEW HOMES FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES.
THE RESTORE PROGRAM SELLS QUALITY USED AND SURPLUS BUILDING MATERIALS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AT A FRACTION OF RETAIL PROCESS. PROCEEDS FROM THE SALES HELP FUND THE CONSTRUCTION OF HABITAT HOMES WITHIN PREBLE COUNTY. THE PROGRAM OFFERS HABITAT PARTNER FAMILIES THE OPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER IN THE RESTORE TO EARN SWEAT EQUITY, AS WELL AS PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE. MATERIALS SOLD BY THE HABITAT RESTORE ARE DONATED ITEMS FROM BUILDING SUPPLY STORES, CONTRACTORS, DEMOLITION CREWS AND PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS WHO WISH TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR HABITAT. IN ADDITION TO RAISING FUNDS, RESTORE HELPS THE ENVIRONMENT WITH SELECTIVE DECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, RECHANNELING GOOD, USABLE MATERIALS BACK INTO THE MARKET AND DIVERTING TONS OF MATERIAL FROM LANDFILLS THROUGH RECYCLING CTRS
HABITAT OFFERS HOME REPAIR SERVICES TO HOMEOWNERS THROUGH THE HOME REPAIR PROGRAM SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO LIVE IN SAFE, DECENT HOMES FOR YEARS TO COME. SOME OF OUR HOME REPAIR WORK INCLUDES PAINTING, LANDSCAPING, WEATHERIZATION, AND MINOR REPAIR SERVICES TO PRESERVE HOME EXTERIORS AND REVITALIZE NEIGHBORHOODS. FAMILIES PARTNER WITH HABITAT BASED ON INCOME, NEED, AND WILLINGNESS TO HELP. WE USE VOLUNTEER LABOR AND DONATED MATERIALS TO KEEP COSTS LOW. IF APPLICABLE, AN AFFORDABLE LOAN IS MADE TO THE HOMEOWNER TO COVER THE COST OF THE WORK. PAYMENTS ARE PLACED IN A REVOLVING FUND TO HELP HOME PRESERVATION SERVE OTHERS IN NEED.
