THE ORGANIZATION LINKS MATURE TALENT (JOB SEEKERS OVER 50 YEARS OF AGE) WITH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. DURING 2020, 355 JOB OPENINGS WERE POSTED, 165 APPLICANTS WERE REGISTERED AND 36 APPLICANTS WERE PLACED. COVID 19 HAD A LARGE DETRIMENTAL IMPACT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF MATUREWORKS, AS WELL AS THE NUMBER OF CLIENTS SEEKING EMPLOYMENT. WE COULD NOT PROVIDE IN PERSON SERVICES, WERE UNABLE TO HAVE MOST OF OUR 2020 HIRING EVENTS, CANCELLED ALL FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND WERE UNABLE TO MEET WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN PERSON. THE AGENCY'S IT INFRASTRUCTURE WAS INADEQUATE FOR SUPPORTING REMOTE WORK AND SERVICE REQUIRED TO RAPIDLY ADAPT TO PANDEMIC SAFETY RESTRICTIONS. GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE WAS RECEIVED FROM THE PAYROLL PROTECTION PROGRAM AND COLUMBUS RESILIENCY FUNDS WHICH, ALONG WITH AUSTERITY MEASURES TAKEN TO REDUCE OPERATIONAL EXPENSES, HELPED THE AGENCY TO ATTAIN FINANCIAL STABILITY DURING THIS CRISIS. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WORKED WITH STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AGENCY PARTNERS AND STAKEHOLDERS TO REVISE STRATEGIC GOALS TO ADDRESS EMERGENT NEEDS AND POSITION THE AGENCY FOR FUTURE SUSTAINABILITY.
