XAVIER IS A JESUIT CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY ROOTED IN THE LIBERAL ARTS TRADITION. OUR MISSION IS TO EDUCATE EACH STUDENT INTELLECTUALLY, MORALLY, AND SPIRITUALLY. WE CREATE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH RIGOROUS ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS INTEGRATED WITH CO-CURRICULAR ENGAGEMENT. XAVIER UNIVERSITY IS A PRIVATE, COEDUCATIONAL UNIVERSITY THAT EDUCATES STUDENTS IN THE JESUIT CATHOLIC TRADITION. XAVIER'S FOUR COLLEGES OFFER 90 UNDERGRADUATE MAJORS, 60 MINORS AND 30 GRADUATE PROGRAMS TO 6,651 STUDENTS, INCLUDING 5,145 UNDERGRADUATES. XAVIER HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE TOP 10 UNIVERSITIES IN THE MIDWEST FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS BY SEVERAL INDEPENDENT REVIEWS. A 11:1 STUDENT TO FACULTY RATIO ENCOURAGES INTERACTIVE AND SUPPORTIVE LEARNING. XAVIER STUDENTS HAVE HIGH GRADUATION AND CAREER PLACEMENT RATES.
XAVIER UNIVERSITY OFFERS STUDENT SERVICES WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO THE STUDENT'S EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL WELL BEING AS WELL AS INTELLECTUAL, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OUTSIDE THE CONTEXT OF FORMAL INSTRUCTION. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE STUDENT GOVERNMENT, RESIDENTIAL LIFE, STUDENT INVOLVEMENT, CAREER SERVICES CENTER, OFFICE OF MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS, INTERCOLLEGIATE AFFAIRS, RECREATIONAL SPORTS, RETAIL SERVICES, DINING SERVICES, CAMPUS POLICE, AND OTHERS.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT INCLUDES THE OPERATION OF THE LIBRARY, THE CONATON LEARNING COMMONS AND DIVISION OF INFORMATION RESOURCES. IN ADDITION TO THE RESOURCES IN THE LIBRARY COLLECTIONS, THE FACILITIES PROVIDE STUDY, LOUNGE, CONFERENCE, INSTRUCTION SPACE, TECHNOLOGIES, AND SERVICES TO HELP STUDENTS MASTER ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND GAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE DISCIPLINES AND CAREERS.
