EDUCATION/EVENT EXPENSES: ONE OF ITS MAIN FUNCTIONS AND A STRATEGIC PRIORITY, THE NEVADA HOUSING COALITION PROVIDES EDUCATION TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING STAKEHOLDERS STATEWIDE. THE ONLY EVENT THAT INCURRED BOTH REVENUE AND EXPENSES IN 2021 WAS THE ANNUAL STATEWIDE HOUSING CONFERENCE. THE NEVADA HOUSING COALITION ORGANIZED THE CONFERENCE TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCATES AND STAKEHOLDERS ACROSS NEVADA. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS HOSTED IN OCTOBER 2021 IN LAS VEGAS WITH A VIRTUAL OPTION. EXPENSES INCLUDE 45% OF STAFF TIME OF THE COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH COORDINATOR AND 30% OF TIME OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
ADVOCACY: ONE OF THE STRATEGIC PRIORITIES OF THE NEVADA HOUSING COALITION IS ADVOCACY. THE WORK OF THE COALITION IS IN THIS SPACE IS PRIMARILY FOR EDUCATION AND AWARENESS OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING CHALLENGES FACED BY NEVADANS AND THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR POLICY SOLUTIONS. A VERY SMALL PORTION OF THE NEVADA HOUSING COALITIONS BUDGET SERVES LOBBYING EXPENSES INCURRED DURING THE STATE LEGISLATIVE SESSION. EXPENSES INCLUDE CONTRACTED EXPENSES AND 40% OF TIME OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
COMMUNICATION/AWARENESS: THE NEVADA HOUSING COALITION IS A RELATIVELY NEW ORGANIZATION, AND AS PART OF ITS COMMUNICATION STRATEGY, THE ORGANIZATION CONTRACTED MARKETING SPECIALISTS TO PROVIDE A BRAND REFRESH AND A NEW WEBSITE. THE WEBSITE WAS LAUNCHED IN THE SEPTEMBER 2021. EXPENSES ALSO INCLUDE 50% OF STAFF TIME OF THE COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH COORDINATOR AND 20% OF TIME FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
