THE NEW LIFE DAY CENTER PROVIDES DIRECT SUPPORT TO PERSONS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, BRIDGING GAPS BETWEEN OUR HOMELESS NEIGHBORS AND THE OPERATING RESOURCES CURRENTLY EXISTING TO SERVE THEM AS THEY OVERCOME LIFE'S MOST CHALLENGING BARRIERS. THEY TRANSFORM LIVES BY FOCUSING ON INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS AND NEEDS THROUGH FOSTERING ATTITUDES OF HOSPITALITY, RESPECT AND LOVE.

COLLABORATIVE EFFORT DAY CENTER HAS UNDERTAKEN ON JOBS FOR THE HARD TO EMPLOY (HOMELESS AND OTHER UNSKILLED). IT IS CALLED ADVANCE LEXINGTON AND IS PATTERNED AFTER A HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL ADVANCED MEMPHIS. THE PROGRAM IS THREE-TIERED: SIX WEEKS OF JOB TRAINING AT NO SALARY (TO ASSURE CANDIDATES ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE FOR THE GOAL OF A GOOD JOB), FOLLOWED BY A TEMPORARY JOB FOR PAY, AND FINALLY A FULL TIME JOB. ADVANCE LEXINGTON IS LOCATED DOWNTOWN IN OUR NEW LIFE DAY CENTER.
