LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSITION INTO ADULTHOOD, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH AUTISM AND RELATED DEVELOPMENT DISABILITIES THAT FOCUSES ON THE ACQUISITION OF FUNCTIONAL LIFE SKILS, VOCATIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL AND SELF CARE SKILLS NECESSARY TO BECOME MORE INDEPENDENT AND INTEGRATED IN THE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THEY LIVE. THIS EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE IS FACILITATED IN A NATURAL ENVIROMENTAL SETTING IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE ACQUISITION AND RETENTION OF THE SKILLS. ADMISISTRATIVE STAFF AND INTERESTED COMMUNITY PARTNERS VOLUNTEER TO ADMINISTER THE PROGRAM ALONG WITH CONTRACTED EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AND EDUCATIONAL STAFF. FAMILIES HAVE ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATIONAL SUPPORTS AND SERVICES. IN THE PAST YEAR PARTICIPANTS HAVE CONTINUED TO DEVELOP SKILLS AND INTERESTS IN THE AREAS OF HORTICULTURE, ANIMAL CARE AND LEISURE AND BASIC FUNCTIONAL SKILLS.
