IN OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM IN 2022, 15 NEW MENTEES WERE MATCHED WITH A MENTOR. TWENTY NEW MENTORS WERE TRAINED AND EQUIPPED TO SUPPORT THEIR MENTEE. WE INCREASED OUR CAPACITY TO WALK ALONGSIDE MENTEES LONG-TERM BY CREATING AN ALUMNI PROGRAM FOR OUR MENTOR/MENTEE PAIRS WHO HAVE BEEN MATCHED LONGER THAN ONE YEAR AND NO LONGER REQUIRE INTENSIVE OVERSIGHT. TWELVE MATCHES GRADUATED AND SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITIONED TO ALUMNI STATUS. WE HOSTED A GRADUATION PARTY FOR THE GIRLS THAT COULD ATTEND AND HAVE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH THOSE ON THE ACTIVE ROSTER. WE LAUNCHED "REAL TALK, REAL SUPPORT" INTERPERSONAL PROCESSING GROUPS & "ELEVATE" MENTOR SUPPORT GROUPS TO ENHANCE MENTOR SUPPORT YEAR-ROUND. WE TRAINED AND SUPPORTED TWO OUT- OF STATE ANTI-TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATIONS AS THEY LAUNCHED A MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR TRAFFICKED YOUTH UTILIZING OUR PROVEN MENTORSHIP MODEL THROUGH AMPLIFY TRAINING & CONSULTING.
MY LIFE MY CHOICE IS A NATIONAL MODEL OF EMPOWERMENT FOR GIRLS AND EFFECTIVE EDUCATION ON PREVENTION OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION. THE CURRICULUM IS CENTERED ON THE GOALS OF CHANGING ATTITUDES AND PERCEPTIONS ABOUT THE COMMERCIAL SEX INDUSTRY, IMPROVING KNOWLEDGE AND SEXUAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE, AND INCREASING SKILLS THAT HELP REDUCE THE RISK OF EXPLOITATION.
ALLIES SUPPORTED THREE MENTEES AS THEY COMPLETED OUR 16-WEEK JOB TRAINING PROGRAM, GIVING THEM JOB SHADOW OPPORTUNITIES, SKILLS AND PRACTICAL TOOLS TO SUPPORT THEM IN THEIR CAREER READINESS.
IN 2022, WE HOSTED A VIRTUAL THRIVE GROUP FOR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS OF TRAFFICKED YOUTH. WE ALSO SPENT TIME DEVELOPING A LOGIC MODEL AND LONG-TERM STRATEGIC PLAN FOR SUPPORTING FAMILIES. OUR TEAM SPENT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME IN 2022 INVESTING IN IMPROVING OUR DATA COLLECTION AND PROGRAM EVALUATION METHODS, AND UTILIZING THOSE TO REFINE THE TRAININGS WE OFFER.
