THE MISSION OF CANINES WITH A CAUSE IS TO CREATE SUSTAINABLE PROGRAMS AND PROCESSES TO EFFECTIVELY AND HOLISTICALLY TREAT COMBAT VETERANS WITH PTSD WITH WELL-TRAINED, SPECIALIZED SERVICE DOGS THAT PROVIDE EMOTIONAL THERAPY AS COMPANIONS. BY RESCUING DOGS FROM KILL SHELTERS AND USING PRISON INMATES AS A MEANS TO TRAIN, WE ESSENTIALLY SAVE THREE LIVES: THE VETERAN, THE DOG, AND THE INMATE.

THE MISSION OF CANINES WITH A CAUSE (CWAC) IS TO CREATE SUSTAINABLE PROGRAMS AND PROCESSES TO EFFECTIVELY AND HOLISTICALLY PAIR VETERANS SUFFERING FROM POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS (PTS) WITH WELL-TRAINED ASSISTANCE DOGS. BY ADHERING CLOSELY TO OUR MISSION, CWAC STRIVES TO MOVE VETERANS FROM A STATE OF PTS TOWARD A STATE OF POST-TRAUMATIC-GROWTH (PTG). IN COMMITTING TO POSITIVE GROWTH, WE BECOME ONE OF MANY STEPS ON THE SOLDIERS PATH TOWARD HEALING. MORE IMPORTANTLY, WERE ABLE TO DEVELOP CREATIVE-INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING SOLUTIONS THAT MEET THE MENTAL, EMOTIONAL AND ECONOMIC-STABILITY CHALLENGES VETERANS FACE TODAY. CWAC CURRENTLY SERVICES VETERANS/ACTIVE MILITARY IN UTAH, NORTHERN NEVADA, SOUTHERN IDAHO AND WESTERN WYOMING. WE HAVE DOG TRAINING PROGRAMS IN THE UTAH WOMENS STATE PRISON, WARM SPRINGS CORRECTIONAL IN CARSON CITY, NV (INCARCERATED VETERANS TRAINING DOGS) AND OROFINO, IDAHO. SADLY, OUR UTAH PRISON TRAINING PROGRAMS ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
