Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
CASA FOR KIDS, INC. PROVIDES GUARDIAN AD LITEM (GAL) SERVICES TO EVERY CHILD IN FLATHEAD COUNTY'S FOSTER CARE SYSTEM AND COVERS THE NEW CHILDREN IN LINCOLN COUNTY'S FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. IN 2021 CASA FOR KIDS RECRUITED AND TRAINED 15 NEW ADVOCATES. TOGETHER, THE NEW AND EXISTING ADVOCATES TOTALED 90. THIS TEAM OF 90 VOLUNTEER CASA GALS PROVIDED ADVOCACY TO 246 CHILDREN IN FLATHEAD AND LINCOLN COUNTY. OUR TEEN ADVOCACY PROGRAM, FOCUS, HAS CONTINUED TO DEVELOP RESOURCES AND INCREASED SUPPORT FOR FOSTER TEENS. A COUPLE HIGHLIGHTS FROM THAT PROGRAM INCLUDE CREATING A SERVICE AND ACADEMIC INCENTIVE PROGRAM THAT RESULTED IN 2 TEENS RECEIVING THEIR OWN LAPTOP AND ONE TEEN RECEIVING A CELL PHONE. A FORMER FOSTER YOUTH REACHED OUT TO FOCUS FOR HELP WHEN THE HOME SHE HAD BEEN RENTING WAS FORECLOSED ON. SHE HAD ALREADY EXHAUSTED ALL NORMAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES TRYING TO FIND HOUSING ASSISTANCE WHEN SHE CONTACTED US. WE WERE ABLE TO CONNECT HER WITH A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL WHO REDUCED HER NORMAL RENT SO THIS YOUNG PERSON COULD HAVE A HOME. THE YOUNG PERSON HAD RAISED ALMOST ENOUGH TO COVER THE REQUIRED DEPOSITS BUT WOULDNT BE PAID AGAIN IN TIME TO GENERATE ALL OF IT. WE WERE ABLE TO LOCATE AN ANONYMOUS DONOR TO PROVIDE THE BALANCE. SHE WAS ABLE TO MOVE IN JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE SHE WOULD HAVE BECOME HOMELESS.
