IN 2019, THE U.S. PECAN GROWERS COUNCIL SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SEVERAL PROJECTS. COUNTRIES TARGETED FOR SAID PROJECTS WERE TURKEY, SOUTH KOREA, CHINA,UAE, AND INDIA. THE MISSONS/PROJECTS WERE FUNDED BY USDA THROUGH THE MAP(MARKET ACCESS PROGRAM). AS IN THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, CHINA, INCLUDING ALL OF ASIA CONTINUES TO BE A TARGETED MARKET FOR PECANS. MARKETING EFFORTS INCLUDING E-COMMERCE PROMOTIONS, TRADE SHOWS, BAKERY SEMINARS AND EDUCATIONAL TOURS HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL IN PROMOTING THE HEALTH ATTRIBUTES OF PECANS. IN THE MIDDLE EAST, EFFORTS TO STIMULATE SALES HAVE BEEN THROUGH ONE OF THE WORLDS LARGEST VENUES, KNOWN AS "GULFOOD". THE IMPACT OF THIS PROMOTION STRETCHES THROUGHOUT EUROPE, NORTHERN AFRICA, AND THE REST OF THE MIDDLE EAST.
