THE MISSION OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY IS TO: A. TO INCREASE AND DIFFUSE KNOWLEDGE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY IN ITS BROADEST SENSE; B. TO EDUCATE INDUSTRY AND THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO FURTHER THEIR TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING OF POLICY; C. TO SECURE UNITED ACTION AND TO REPRESENT THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY COMMUNITY NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY; D. TO DO ALL AND EVERYTHING NECESSARY TO ENHANCE THE GROWTH OF THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY RESEARCH AND THE PROSPECTS FOR FUNDING OF SUCH RESEARCH; AND E. TO ENCOURAGE POLICY CHANGES IN GOVERNMENT TO INCREASE THE FUNDING OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY RESEARCH.

ENCOURAGE POLICY CHANGES TO INCREASE FUNDING FOR AGRICULTURE POLICY RESEARCH. ENGAGE WITH CONGRESS AND RELEVANT AGENCIES TO ADVOCATE FOR LEGISLATION AND APPROPRIATIONS.
SECURE UNITED ACTION REPRESENTING THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY COMMUNITY. BUILD COALITIONS IN SUPPORT OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD POLICY RESEARCH.
EDUCATE THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD COMMUNITY TO FURTHER THE TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING OF POLICY ISSUES. CONDUCT OUTREACH AND BRIEFINGS TO INDUSTRY AND ACADEMIA. IN 2014, THE ASSOCIATION WAS AWARDED A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE'S FARM SERVICE AGENCY TO DEVELOP AND DELIVER DECISION AIDS TO FARMERS REGARDING PROGRAMS INCLUDED IN THE 2014 FARM BILL. THE GRANT WAS COMPETITIVELY AWARDED.
