PGSS CAMPAIGN, INC. CONTRIBUTED $204,876 TO THE OPERATION OF THE PENNSYLVANIA GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL FOR THE SCIENCES (PGSS) A 5 WEEK IN-PERSON SUMMER STEM EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR GIFTED PENNSYLVANIA HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS. THIS YEAR'S PROGRAM WAS HELD AT CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY. STUDENTS TOOK CLASSES IN PHYSICS, BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, MATH, AND COMPUTER SCIENCE. THEY ALSO CONDUCTED TEAM RESEARCH PROJECTS THAT CULMINATED IN A RESEARCH PAPER AND A PRESENTATION ON THEIR RESULTS. 72 STUDENTS SELECTED FROM ACROSS THE STATE PARTICIPATED IN PGSS 2022.
PGSS CAMPAIGN RAN A ALUMNI MENTORING PROGRAM, MATCHING STUDENTS FROM THE MOST RECENT PROGRAM WITH ADULT ALUMNI MENTORS TO ADVISE THEM ON THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS, MAJOR AND CAREER ADVICE. 39 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED WITH 39 ALUMNI MENTORS.
