FOR THE YEAR 2018, THE PROGRAM PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO A TOTAL OF 8 INDIGENT COLLEGE STUDENTS ATTENDING UNIVERSITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES. THREE OF THE 8 STUDENTS WERE NEW SCHOLARS WHO STARTED COLLEGE IN JUNE 2018. ALL STUDENTS WERE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THEIR TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS TO ENSURE THEY PASSED ALL THEIR CLASSES AND FULFILLED THE REQUIREMENT SET FORTH BY THE COED BOARD OF DIRECTORS. OF THE 8 STUDENTS, TWO ATTEND THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES, WHILE SIX ATTEND THE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES. ONE STUDENT IS MAJORING IN ECONOMICS, ONE IN STATISTICS, THREE IN ACCOUNTING, ONE IN MASS COMMUNICATION, ONE IN BIOLOGY AND ONE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. BY THE END OF 2018, 7 OF THE STUDENTS WERE ACHIEVING EXCELLENT GRADES WHILE ONE DROPPED OUT OF COLLEGE AND STOPPED COMMUNICATING WITH THE BOARD. THE BOARD DECIDED TO NO LONGER PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE STUDENT BECAUSE SHE STOPPED COMMUNICATING WITH THE BOARD AND WITH HER CO-SCHOLARS. ALTHOUGH THE BOARD PRESIDENT AND COED SCHOLARS DESPERATELY TRIED TO REACH OUT TO HER, SHE DID NOT COMMUNICATE BACK. BY THE END OF 2018, THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SCHOLARS WAS SEVEN.
