CREATIVE RESIDENCY:IN 2021, SPACE RAN A SCALED DOWN RESIDENCY SEASON FOR DEFERRED 2020 RESIDENTS FROM THE WORKING FARM, OUR FIVE-WEEK LONG PLAYWRIGHT'S GROUP, AND THE CREATIVE RESIDENCY, OUR GENERAL RESIDENCY FOR ARTISTS OF ALL DISCIPLINES. RESIDENTS PARTICIPATED IN RESIDENCIES FOR TWO TO FIVE WEEKS AT A TIME, DEPENDING ON THE PROGRAM, TO DEVELOP NEW PROJECTS.BECAUSE OF THE ONGOING COVID-19 PANDEMIC, SPACE ONLY HOSTED FIVE RESIDENTS PER WEEK SO THAT THE ARTISTS COULD FORM A POD IN ONE HOUSEHOLD. IN RESPONSE TO THE CHALLENGING YEAR FOR ARTISTS DURING THE PANDEMIC, 2021 RESIDENCIES WERE SUPPLEMENTED WITH RESTORATIVE ACTIVITIES ON SITE, INCLUDING YOGA, MEDITATION, KITCHEN CLASSES AND ARTISAN WORKSHOPS. ALL RESIDENCIES WERE FULLY-SUBSIDIZED.EACH OF THE 2021 PARTICIPANTS WERE PULLED FROM THE LIST OF 2020 DEFERRED RESIDENTS. THESE ARTISTS INCLUDED ASANTE AMIN, AYA AZIZ, BEN FERGUSON, CAITLIN SULLIVAN, CAROLINE V. MCGRAW, CHEN LO, CHRISTIAN DE GRE CARDENAS, DANIEL K. ISAAC, DEB MARGOLIN, ELIZA BENT, ELLEN WINTER, GRACE MCLEAN, HEATHER CHRISTIAN, JENNY GIERING, JESSICA HUANG, JINGJING TIAN, KAREEM LUCAS, LU CHEKOWSKY, NICOLE MIAZGOWICZ, NIKHIL MAHAPATRA, NIKKI VERA, NISSY AYA, OBEHI JANICE, OGEMDI UDE, RICARDO DAVILA, SEAN BARRY, SHAYAN LOTFI, VICHET CHUM, YILONG LIU AND ZARINA SHEA.
