THE ORGANIZATION IS RECOGNIZED BY THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE AS THE WORLD GOVERNING AUTHORITY FOR SURFING, STANDUP PADDLE (SUP) SURFING AND RACING, AND ALL OTHER WAVE RIDING ACTIVITIES. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD INCLUDING INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDER 18 JUNIOR SURFERS. PROMOTES TRAINING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD FOR JUDGING AND COACHING IN INTERNATIONAL WAVE RIDING COMPETITIONS. TO PROMOTE TRAINING & EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD FOR JUDGING AND COACHING INCLUDING INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDER 18 JUNIOR SURFERS. ADDITIONALLY, DEDICATING RESOURCES AND EFFORTS TOWARDS THE INCLUSION OF WAVE RIDING SPORTS INTO THE OLYMPICS.
