THROUGH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, GRASS- ROOTS CAMPAIGNS, ADVOCACY, AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, WE SEEK TO CREATE AN ARIZONA IN WHICH EVERY PERSON ENJOYS EQUAL RIGHTS, OPPORTUNITIES, AND PROTECTIONS.

LUCHAS KEY PROGRAM AREAS OVER 2021 INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING DEMOCRACY/LEGISLATIVE FIGHTBACK. IN 2021, LUCHA WITNESSED UNPRECEDENTED ATTACKS ON ARIZONANS ACCESS TO THE BALLOT. WE EXPECT THOSE ATTACKS TO CONTINUE AT A HIGH LEVEL AND ARE PREPARING FOR SUCH IN 2022. THAT IS WHY WE ARE BUILDING BASE AROUND THE FOLLOWING THEMES MAIL-IN BALLOT ATTACKS MORE THAN 150,000 VOTERS COULD BE PURGED FROM THE VOTE BY MAIL LIST BASED ON THEIR FAILURE TO VOTE. SINCE MORE THAN 70 PERCENT OF VOTERS CAST THEIR BALLOT THIS WAY, WE EXPECT SUCH LEGISLATION TO PERSIST FOR THE COMING YEARS. CURING PERIOD FOR NATIVE VOTERS THE SIGNATURE CURING PERIOD FOR COUNTY RECORDERS HAS ALSO BEEN UNDER ATTACK. BILLS OF THIS KIND WOULD OVERWHELMINGLY AFFECT NATIVE VOTERS IN ARIZONA BECAUSE NATIVE VOTERS FREQUENTLY DO NOT RECEIVE THEIR MAIL ON TIME. INVALIDATING ELECTION RESULTS LUCHA FULLY EXPECTS ATTEMPTS AT SHAM ELECTION REVIEWS AND OTHER FRAUDIT MEASURES WILL CONTINUE IN THE COMING YEARS AND IS ALREADY BEING INCLUDED IN BUDGETARY DISCUSSIONS.
