2020 CAMP RICE IS A FAMILY SLEEP OVER CAMP AND IT WAS CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19 CRISIS IN 2020. WE WERE ABLE TO OFFER A VIRTUAL TEEN CAMP SESSIONS FOR 20 ADOPTED TEENS ALONG WITH SEVERAL ADULT ADOPTEE COUNSELORS. THE VIRTUAL SUMMER TEEN CAMP WAS DIVDIED INTO THREE SESSIONS ON JULY 18TH, AUGUST 1ST AND AUGUST 15TH. FIRST SESSION IS NAMED AS AMAZING RACE KOREA EDITION, IN WHICH TEENS HAD TO WORO WITH THEIR TEAMS TO SOLVE PUZZLES AND MYSTERIES IN ORDER TO MOVE ON TO THE NEXT MISSION. ASIA FAMILIES SENT ARTS AND CRAFT TO CAMPER'S HOME AHEAD OF THE SECOND SESSION SO CAMPERS CAN ENJOY MAKING CRAFTS AS WELL AS SOME NEW KOREAN SNACKS. IN THE THIRD SESSION, CAMPERS LEARNED ABOUT SOME FOOD-RELATED KOREAN AND ENJOYED A FOOD CHALLENGE.
2020 KOREAN CULTURE SCHOOL: AN DUCATIONAL PROGRAM THAT TAKES PLACE ONCE A MONTH AT THE FIRST KOREAN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH,1011 MAPLE AVE,ROCKVILLE, MD 20851. PARTICIPANTS LEARN ABOUT KOREAN CULTURE AND ABOUT THEIR ADOPTIVE HERITAGE. KOREAN CULTURE SCHOOL IS NORMALLY ATTENED BY 130-170 PARTICIPANTS AND VOLUNTEERS. HOWEVER, THE IN-PERSON KOREAN CULTURE SCHOOL WAS OFFERED ONLY ONCE IN FEBRUARY OF 2020 AND WAS CANCELED AFTERWARDS DUE TO COVID-19 CRISIS. IN THE FALL OF 2020 KOREAN CULTURE SCHOOL WAS OFFERED VIRTUALLY OVER THE ZOOM FOR FREE OF CHARGE FOR THE PARTICIPANTS. PARTICIPANTS LEARNED ABOUT KOREAN COOKING THROUGHOUT THE FALL SESSIONS (OCTOBER 10, NOVEMBER 21 AND DECEMBER 5).
THE KOREA BRIDGE TOUR WAS CANCELED IN 2020.
ASIA FAMILIES OFFERED KOREAN ADULT ADOPTEE LISTENING SESSIONS AND ADOPTIVE PARENTS' PARENT CAFE A FEW TIMES IN 2020 TO SUPPORT THE ADOPTION COMMUNITY.
