THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO SAFEGUARD THE RIGHTS OF ANIMAL OWNERS AND PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, WHILE ALSO PROMOTING THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS THROUGH CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION.

Part 3 - Line 4a

ICAW SPENDS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT TO PREPARE,PRINT AND MAIL ITS MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TO ITS MEMBERS. THE NEWSLETTER PROVIDES CURRENT INFORMATION ON ALL ASPECTS OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, INCLUDING HEALTH, BREEDING, RAISING AND PROMOTING THE SOCIALIZATION OF ANIMALS.


ICAW'S ANNUAL AND REGIONAL SEMINARS PROVIDE ONGOING EDUCATION TO ITS MEMBERS. INDIVIDUALS FROM ACADEMIA, GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY GIVE PRESENTATIONS AT THESE EVENTS.


ICAW EXPENDS FUNDS TO PROVIDE INSPECTIONS OF ITS MEMBERS KENNELS BY AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION SERVICE, AND ENCOURAGE OTHER MEMBERS TO VISIT THOSE INSPECTED OPERATORS TO EARN BEST PRACTICES.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE ONE=HALF THE SALARY PAID TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE SALARY PAID TO THE NEWSLETTER COORDINATOR, TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES PROVIDED TO MEMBERS DURING ANNUAL SEMINAR, AND DONATIONS TO SISTER ORGANIZATIONS
