THE HAPPY PROGRAM IS A WEEKLY, TAKE-HOME FOOD PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN IN NEED OF FOOD WHEN SCHOOL MEALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. NONPERISHABLE FOODS ARE SENT HOME IN BACKPACKS WITH CHILDREN WHO HAVE LITTLE OR NO FOOD ON THE WEEKENDS.

THE HAPPY PACK PROGRAM FEEDS 275 KIDS PER WEEK DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. GRANTS AND UNITED WAY FUNDING ARE USED TO FUND THE EXTRA FOOD GIVEN DURING LONG BREAKS AT CHRISTMAS AND FALL BREAK. EACH FAMILY IS GIVEN A FOOD VOUCHER DURING THE EXTENDED BREAK TO BE USED AT A LOCAL GROCERY TO PURCHASE FOOD.
