BELVOIR, WALTER REED AND OTHER LOCAL VA HOSPITALS/CENTERS:3 WEEKEND RETREATS AT CAMP MARIA WITH THEIR SPOUSES AND CHILDRE THAT INCLUDED ACTIVITIES SUCH AS BOATING, KAYAKING, SWIMMING, FLY FISHING INSTRUCTORS, SEARCH AND RESCUE K9 TEAM DEMOS, 4H CRAZY CRITTERS, ETCALSO PROVIE A CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR NEED VETERAN FAMILIES
VARIOUS FUNDRAISING EVENTS THAT PROMOTE AWARENESS OF V4V MISSION OUR LARGEST FUN EVENT IS THE ANNUAL POKER RUN MANY VETERANS SERVICE MEMBERS AND OTHERS PARTICIPATE LOOK FORWARD TO THE EVENTS EACH YEAR. WE SET UP 5 STOPS AT VARIOUS BUSINESSES AROUND THE COUNTY PLAYERS PAY A FEE TO PARTICIPATE PLAYERS RIDE TO EACH STOP TO COLLECT ONE CARD TO BUILD THEIR HAND. ONCE THEY HAVE A FULL HAND, THEY RETURN TO THE EVENT, PLAY THEIR HAND AND ENJOY FELLOWSHIP. POTENTIAL SPONSORS ARE MAILED LETTERS AND ARE OFFERED ADVERTISING BASED ON THE SIZE OF THEIR DONATIONS. PLAYERS ARE PROVIDED LUNCH AND T-SHIRT. RAFFELS AND AN AUCTION ARE ALSO CONDUCTED
