THE MISSION OF THE BITTERROOT PERFORMING ARTS COUNCIL IS TO BRING DIVERSE ARTISTS TO OUR COMMUNITY TO PRESENT PERFORMANCES AND EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH IN THE PERFORMING ARTS.

IN POST-PANDEMIC FY2022, OUR ORGANIZATION RESUMED THE PRESENTATION OF LIVE PERFORMANCES IN OUR 17TH SEASON. SIX WELL-RECEIVED CONCERTS WERE PRESENTED IN OUR MAIN 700-SEAT VENUE. WE ALSO EXPANDED OUR PROGRAMMING TO INCLUDE A CONCERT IN ANOTHER LOCAL COMMUNITY, PRESENTED A FULL, FREE CONCERT TO A LOCAL SCHOOL, AND ORGANIZED FREE COMMUNITY SESSIONS IN WHICH OUR VISITING MUSICIANS JOINED IN WITH LOCAL MUSICIANS. WE ALSO PARTNERED WITH A LOCAL HIGH STUDENT TO HELP HER PRODUCE A BENEFIT CONCERT. OUR ORGANIZATION WILL ALSO PRESENT ITS FIRST OUTDOOR SUMMER CONCERT IN AUGUST 2022. WE CONTINUED TO CREATE CONTENT FOR OUR "BITTERROOT PRESENTS" EDUCATIONAL VIDEO LIBRARY WHICH SPOTLIGHT LOCAL STUDENT AND PROFESSIONAL MUSICAL ARTISTS, PLUS OTHER ASPECTS OF PERFORMING ARTS PRODUCTION, WITH THE GOAL OF INSPIRING AND EDUCATING STUDENTS OF ALL AGES ABOUT THE PERFORMING ARTS. THE BITTERROOT PRESENTS VIDEO LIBRARY IS MADE AVAILABLE TO SCHOOLS AT NO CHARGE. IN FY2022, MATERIAL FOR TWO NEW VIDEOS WERE CREATED, AND TWO VIDEOS WERE COMPLETED. OUR ANNUAL "SPRING FOR THE ARTS" FUNDRAISING AUCTION IN FY2022 FEATURED ART PIECES CREATED BY THREE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THIS GAVE THE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISPLAY THEIR ART TO THE COMMUNITY, AND PROCEEDS FROM AUCTIONING THEIR PIECES HELPED FUND SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED ANNUALLY TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BY THE BITTERROOT PERFORMING ARTS COUNCIL.
