PROTECT GEORGIA MUSLIMS - IN 2021, CAIR GEORGIA FOUGHT FOR THE RIGHTS OF ALL BY DEFENDING OUR CONSTITUTION AND PROMOTING EQUALITY AND JUSTICE. WE ADVOCATED FOR THE FREEDOM TO DRIVE BILL ON BEHALF OF IMMIGRANTS AND MINORITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. CAIR GEORGIA ALSO SECURED OVER $300K IN SETTLEMENTS FOR OUR CLIENTS WHO WERE TARGETED AND ENDURED HARDSHIPS FOR THEIR MUSLIM FAITH. CAIR GEORGIA TOOK ON OVER 40 NEW CLIENTS THIS YEAR. WE WON A LEGAL VICTORY CHALLENGING THE GEORGIAS ANTI-BDS LAW. CAIR GEORGIA HOSTED THE 3RD ANNUAL MUSLIM CIVIL RIGHTS ROUNDTABLE WHERE WE DISCUSSED VOTING RIGHTS, WHAT WE CAN DO TO WORK AGAINST VOTER SUPPRESSION, AND WHAT REDISTRICTING IN GEORGIA MAY MEAN FOR OUR COMMUNITY. CAIR GEORGIA RELEASED AN UPDATED REPORT ON THE GEORGIA INTERNATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT EXCHANGE (GILEE). CAIR GEORGIA LAUNCHED IMMIGRATION SERVICES AND HAD SEVERAL INTAKES IMMEDIATELY. CAIR GEORGIA LAUNCHED A KNOW YOUR RIGHTS TOUR IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE TO EDUCATE AM
EMPOWER GEORGIA MUSLIMS - IN 2021, CAIR GEORGIA PROMOTED DIALOGUE BY ENGAGING IN CONVERSATIONS WITH THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY AND OTHER PARTNERS . WE CONTINUED OUR GET OUT THE VOTE EFFORTS AND KEPT OUR COMMUNITY INFORMED ABOUT THE ELECTORAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SENATORIAL RUNOFF ELECTIONS. CAIR GEORGIA CONDUCTED A TRAINING FOR GEORGIA MUSLIMS ON HOW TO ADVOCATE FOR OR AGAINST POLICIES THAT TOUCH THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY. THEN, WE ORGANIZED WITH THE U.S. COUNCIL OF MUSLIM ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL MUSLIM ADVOCACY DAY. WE JOINED LOCAL PARTNERS GEORGIA MUSLIM VOTER PROJECT AND MPOWER CHANGE FOR NATIONAL MUSLIM VOTER REGISTRATION DAY. JOINED THE GEORGIA MUSLIM VOTER PROJECT AND VOTE RUN LEAD TO HOST A TRAINING FOR MUSLIM WOMEN TO RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. OUR REPRESENTATIVES JOINED AMERICAN MUSLIMS FOR PALESTINE FOR VIRTUAL ADVOCACY. WE PARTNERED WITH THE ISLAMIC SPEAKERS BUREAU OF ATLANTA TO PRESENT A ISLAMOPHOBIA IN SCHOOLS WEBINAR.
ENHANCE THE UNDERSTANDING OF ISLAM - IN 2021, CAIR GEORGIA ADVOCATED FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF ISLAM BY BUILDING BRIDGES OF UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECT. WE STOOD WITH THE ASIAN COMMUNITY AFTER THE SPA SHOOTINGS. CAIR GEORGIA ALSO REPRESENTED THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY AT VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON EVENTS. WE WERE RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF 55 CIVIC GROUPS TO RECEIVE A GRANT FROM THE SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER AS PART OF SPLCS VOTE YOUR VOICE INITIATIVE. WE JOINED AN INTERFAITH SERVICE TURNING TOWARD EACH OTHER ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 9/11/01 ATTACKS. MUSLIMS, CHRISTIANS, JEWS, BAHAIS, AND SIKHS JOINED TOGETHER WITH A CALL TO JUSTICE, RESPECT, AND UNITY. TO BUILD UNDERSTANDING, WE LAUNCHED 20 STORIES FOR 20 YEARS, AN INTROSPECTIVE LOOK BACK ON THE TWO DECADES SINCE THE EVENTS OF 9/11. WE WERE HONORED BY THE SOUTH ASIAN BAR ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA (SABA) FOR OUR LEGAL WORK WITH MARGINALIZED AND TARGETED COMMUNITY MEMBERS. OUR TEAM MEMBERS WERE INVITED ON OVER 20 OCCASION
