THE RURAL INDIA SUPPORTING TRUST ("RIST") WORKS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE CITIZENS OF INDIA BY PROVIDING GRANTS THAT ADVANCE PUBLIC HEALTH, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, AND EDUCATION IN INDIA. IN CALENDAR YEAR 2021, RIST'S GRANTMAKING FOCUSED ON ORGANIZATIONS SERVING INDIVIDUALS IN ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED POSITIONS AND PROGRAMS THAT HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO POSITIVELY AFFECT INDIAN SOCIETY AT LARGE. TO ACHIEVE ITS MISSION, RIST COLLABORATES WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHER FUNDING ENTITIES TO WORK ACROSS MANY SECTORS TO ENSURE EQUALITY AND ACCESS TO SOCIAL SERVICES AND OTHER NECESSITIES FOR A DIGNIFIED LIFE. IN CALENDAR YEAR 2021, RIST SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDED FUNDING TO: COMBAT VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMAN AND CHILDREN, PROVIDE HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS UNABLE TO OBTAIN SERVICES IN REMOTE LOCATIONS OF THE COUNTRY OR BECAUSE OF THEIR FINANCIAL SITUATION, ASSIST LOCAL FARMERS IN REJUVENATING THEIR DEGRADED LAND, SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN GAINING THEIR INDEPENDENCE AND WORK WITH RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE AREAS OF LIVELIHOOD EXPANSION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
