THE CONFERENCE IS A CATHOLIC LAY ORGANIZATION, ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND FELLOWSHIP AND TO SERVE THE NEEDY AND SUFFERING IN THE TYLER, TX AREA. IT PROVIDES GROCERIES, CLOTHING AND LIMITED UTILITIES HELP THROUGH ITS FOOD PANTRY.

OPERATED THE SVDP THRIFT STORE AT 500 SOUTH VINE STREET IN TYLER THAT SELLS FURNITURE, APPLIANCES,HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, JEWELRY AND VARIOUS OTHER ITEMS THAT ARE ALL DONATED BY PARISHIONERS OR OTHER LOCAL SVDP SUPPORTERS. THE STORE IS OPEN EVERY MONDAY, TUESDAY AND THURSDAY PLUS THE FIRST SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH. THE STORE IS MANAGED BY TWO PART TIME PAID EMPLOYEES, A DIRECTOR AND AN ASSISTANT MANAGER AND IS OTHERWISE STAFFED BY A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS. THE THRIFT STORE HAS BECOME THE SINGLE LARGEST SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THE CONFERENCE (SVDP-ICC).
OPERATED A FOOD PANTRY THAT PROVIDED FREE GROCERIES FOR 6,657 FAMILIES (INCLUDES 28,900 TOTAL FAMILY MEMBERS).
