Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
WE CONTINUE TO COLLECT AND ANALYZE CREEK WATER SAMPLES FROM EIGHT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ON A MONTHLY BASIS. WE HAVE BEEN ACTIVE CONSULTING AND ADVISING ON TWO IMPORTANT ISSUES. ONE IS A SERIOUS EROSION PROBLEM THAT IS THREATENING A TOWNHOUSE ABOVE A STEEP HILL THAT THE CREEK IS WASHING AWAY. ANOTHER IS THE REMOVAL OF A WEIR ON THE CREEK. THE WEIR WAS BUILT TO CREATE A POND AND THE POND HAS FILLED WITH SILT. WE HOPE TO RESTORE THE CREEK TO ITS ORIGINAL FLOW BY REMOVING THE WEIR. WE HAVE JUST STARTED A NATIVE PLANT GARDEN NEAR THE CREEK IN ORDER TO IMPROVE WATER QUALITY BY REDUCING RUNOFF THAT GOES DIRECTLY INTO THE CREEK.
