GRASSROOTS ACTIVITIES - THE PERFORMANCE MARKETING ASSOCIATION (PMA) COORDINATED GRASSROOTS EFFORTS TO FIGHT LEGISLATION IN 10 STATES. THE PMA INTERFACED WITH POLITICAL ADVISERS, MET WITH LEGISLATORS AND COORDINATED MEMBER ACTION SUCH AS LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGNS, CALLS AND VISITS TO STATE LEGISLATORS. THIS LEGISLATION, IF PASSED, WOULD IMPACT NEARLY 75,000 SMALL BUSINESSES. PMA WAS SUCCESSFUL IN PREVENTING THE LAWS FROM BEING PASSED IN 8 OUT OF THE 10 STATES.
THOUGHT LEADERSHIP - THE INDUSTRY PMA REPRESENTS INCLUDES OVER 200,000 ONLINE ADVERTISING COMPANIES WITH MANY DIVERSE BUSINESS MODELS. THE PMA CREATES FORUMS FOR DISCUSSION AND RESOLUTION OF KEY ISSUES IMPACTING THE INDUSTRY. THESE ISSUES INCLUDE FRAUD DETECTION AND PREVENTION, BEST PRACTICES, RECRUIMENT OF NEW BUSINESSES TO THIS INDUSTRY, COVERGENCE WITH OTHER BUSINESS MODELS, AND STANDARDS AND POLICIES TO IMPROVE EFFECTIVNESS.
