FUNDING TO NHHS FOR STERILE PROCESSOR -NHHS STERILE PROCESSING SAFETY IMPROVEMENT - NHHS NEEDS TO PU RCHASE A LARGE INSTRUMENT WASHER FOR STERILE PROCESSING IN SU RGERY. THE DEPARTMENT CURRENTLY HAS ONE 1 SMALL WASHER FOR INSTRUMENTS BUT AN INCREASE IN ORTHOPEDIC GYNECOLOGIC AND O VERALL SURGERY CASES HAS CREATED A NEED FOR A SECOND AND LARG ER WASHER. CURRENTLY IT TAKES TWO 2 DAYS OF STAFF TIME STE RILE PROCESSING USING THE SMALLER WASHER AND THERE IS NO BAC KUP WASHER IF THE SMALLER UNIT BREAKS. STERILIZATION IS THE M OST IMPORTANT STEP IN SECURING SAFE PATIENT SURGERY.
HEALTHY KIDS SNACK BAGS. CHILDREN FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS RECEIVE A BAG OF NUTRITIOUS SNACKS ONCE PER WEEK DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. THE PURPOSE IS TO PREVENT HUNGER AND PROMOTE HEALTHY EATING HABITS.
