THE MASSACHUSETTS OYSTER PROJECT (MOP), ENGAGES IN 4 PRIMARY ACTIVITIES.RESTORATION - WHERE AND WHEN WE CAN, MOP WORKS TO RESTORE NATIVE OYSTER POPULATIONS. MOP ALSO SUPPORTS OTHER PROGRAMS, SUCH AS WELLFLEET'S OYSTER PROPAGATION ZONES.SHELL RECYCLING- MOP WORK WITH LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND EVENTS TO GATHER AND RECYCLE OYSTER SHELL. THEN PROCESS THE SHELL AND USE IT AT RESTORATION SITES. EDUCATION - MOP LOVES SPEAKING TO SCHOOL GROUPS, SCOUT TROOPS, AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS. THIS ALSO HELPS EXPOSE MORE PEOPLE TO THE WATER RESOURCES OF MASSACHUSETTS. ADVOCACY - THE COMMONWEALTH'S CUMBERSOME AND ANTIQUATED LAWS ARE HOLDING BACK RESTORATION, MOP IS WORKING TO CHANGE THEM.
