JIMENA'S MISSION IS TO ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL RECOGNITION FOR THE HERITAGE AND HISTORY OF THE 850,000 INDIGENOUS JEWISH REFUGEES FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA. OUR PROGRAMS AIM TO ENSURE THAT THE ACCURATE HISTORY OF MIZRAHI AND SEPHARDIC JEWS IS INCORPORATED INTO MAINSTREAM JEWISH AND MIDDLE EASTERN NARRATIVES, IN ORDER TO CREATE BALANCE IN ATTITUDES, NARRATIVES, AND DISCOURSES ABOUT MIDDLE EASTERN REFUGEES AND THE MODERN JEWISH EXPERIENCE.

EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT - EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES FOCUS ON INCREASING AWARENESS OF THE HISTORY, HERITAGE, AND CONTEMPORARY EXPERIENCES OF JEWS FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA. THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, CULTURAL EVENTS, AND PARTNERSHIPS, JIMENA AIMS TO PROMOTE UNDERSTANDING AND ENGAGEMENT WITHIN JEWISH AND NON-JEWISH COMMUNITIES.

RESEARCH - JIMENA'S RESEARCH INITIATIVES ARE DEDICATED TO COLLECTING ADVANCING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SEPHARDIC AND MIZRAHI JEWS THROUGH DEMOGRAPHIC STUDIES AND COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENTS.
