THE MAIN PURPOSE OF PETRA FOUNDATION, INC. IS TO SHOW THE HOMELESS, DRUG OR ALCOHOL ADDICTED MEN THE LOVE OF JESUS THROUGH FOOD, SHELTER AND HOPE FOR THE FUTURE. WE CONTINUE TO PARTNER WITH A TWO-YEAR DRUG AND ALCOHOL REHABILITATION PROGRAM. PETRA PROVIDES ITEMS TO THESE MEN IN THE PROGRAM AS NEEDED. WE ALSO SPONSOR MEN APPROVED TO ENTER THE PROGRAM BY PAYING THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF THEIR FEES. OUR BELIEF IS THAT THE MEN WHO COME TO THIS PROGRAM WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO STEP TO THE NEXT LEVEL, WHICH IS LONG TERM TREATMENT FOR THEIR ADDICTION. BEHIND PETRA'S EFFORTS IS A VISION FOR THESE MEN TO BE ABLE TO LIVE A PRODUCTIVE LIFE FREE FROM ADDICTION. THIS YEAR WE ALSO RECEIVED A GRANT TO HELP THE LARGE HOMELESS POPULATION IN THIS AREA. WE WERE ABLE TO HIRE TRAINED AND QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS TO GO INTO THE HOMELESS LIVING AREAS TO HELP WITH THEIR MANY DIFFERENT AND VARIED NEEDS.
