PROMOTION OF MEDICAL STAFF LEADERSHIP. THE FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTES TO CANDLER HOSPITAL TO HELP OFFSET A PORTION OF THE HOSPITAL'S EXPENSES IN PAYING THE STIPENDS FOR OFFICERS OF THE MEDICAL STAFF OF CANDLER HOSPITAL. THIS ALLOWS THE MEDICAL STAFF TO ASSUME LEADERSHIP ROLES BY SERVING AS OFFICERS OF THE MEDICAL STAFF OF CANDLER HOSPITAL. LEADERSHIP DUTIES ARE IN ADDITION TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AS PHYSICIANS ENGAGED IN THE PRIVATE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE.
EDUCATION OF CANDLER HOSPITAL MEDICAL STAFF LEADERSHIP. THE FOUNDATION SPENDS ON CONSULTING FEES IN A JOINT EFFORT WITH CANDLER HOSPITAL TO ADVISE AND EDUCATE THE MEDICAL STAFF LEADERSHIP TO BETTER STRUCTURE CALL COVERAGE SO THAT UNINSURED OR OTHERWISE MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED PATIENTS ARE PROPERLY CARED FOR
PROMOTION OF MEDICAL STAFF DEPARTMENTAL AND COMMITTEE WORK. THE FOUNDATION'S CONTRIBUTION TO CANDLER HOSPITAL HAS NOT ONLY HELPED TO PROMOTE MEDICAL STAFF LEADERSHIP BUT HAS ALSO ALLOWED SUPPORT OF COMMITTEE AND DEPARTMENT WORK BY HELPING TO OFFSET A PORTION OF THE HOSPITAL STIPEND EXPENSES.
