THE PURPOSE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CROSS-CULTURAL PYSCHOLOGY IS TO FURTHER THE STUDY OF THE ROLE OF CULTURAL FACTORS IN SHAPING HUMAN BEHAVIOUR. THE ASSOCIATION HAS A WORLDWIDE MEMBERSHIP DRAWN FROM MANY DIVERSE CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS. THROUGH MEETINGS, CONFERENCES, PUBLICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL EXCHANGES, IT PROVIDES A VEHICLE FOR COMMUNICATION AND COOPERATION AMONG ITS MEMBERS AND A MEANS OF DRAWING THE ATTENTION OF OTHER PSYCHOLOGISTS AND SCIENTISTS IN RELATED DISCIPLINES TO THE DYNAMIC INTERACTIONS BETWEEN CULTURE AND BEHAVIOR. THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CROSS-CULTURAL PYSCHOLOGY HAS ABOUT 748 MEMBERS WHO PAY DUES TO THE ASSOCIATION. THE MEMBERS RECEIVE A SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL, JOURNAL OF CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY AND ACCESS TO THE ORGANIZATION'S WEB SITE THAT ENABLES THEM ACCESS TO CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL WRITINGS. THE MEMBERSHIP DUES ALSO ALLOW MEMBERS TO ATTEND VARIOUS PSYCHOLOGY REFERENCED CONFERENCES WHICH ARE ORGANIZED BY OTHER PSYCHOLOGY ORGANIZATIONS, ASSOCIATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.
THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY HAS LAUNCED THE IACCP SPARK GRANTS. IACCP SEEKS TO PROVIDE SMALL GRANTS TO SUPPORT CROSS-CULTURAL RESEARCHERS AT ALLLEVELS. THESE GRANTS ARE AIMED AT SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES THAT WILL ENHANCE THE VISIBILITY OF THE IACCP AND CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY, AND SPARK AWARENESS, BUILD LOCAL CAPACITY, AND SPARK NETWORKING AMOUNT CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGISTS ACROSS OR WITHIN REGIONS.
THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY HAS ORGANIZED THE HARRY AND POLA TRIANDIS DOCTORAL THESIS AWARD, WHICH IS SUPPORTED BY THE HARRY AND POLA TRIANDIS FUND. THE AWARD IS INTENDED TO HONOR AND REWARD RESEARCH EXCELLENCE AND TO ADVANCE THE EARLY CAREERS OF DEDICATED RESEARCHERS IN THE DOMAIN OF CULTURE AND PSYCHOLOGY. ONE AWARD IS GIVEN EVERY TWO YEARS, CONSISTING OF A $500 MONETARY AWARD, ONE YEAR OF MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION, FREE REGISTRATION AT THE NEXT BIENNIAL CONGRESS, AND PARTIAL AIRFARE TO THE CONFERENCE.
