THE FOUNDATION'S GOALS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1) INCREASE AWARENESS OF DIFFERENT CULTURES FOR CHILDREN AT ALL GRADE LEVELS IN OUR SCHOOLS AS A LEARNING TOOL TO EXPAND THEIR HORIZONS, FOSTER OPEN-MINDEDNESS AND PROVIDE VALUE-ADDED LEARNING EXPERIENCES 2) PROMOTE GREATER UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE DIFFERENT CULTURES REPRESENTED BY THE "FACES" IN OUR COMMUNITY AND CELEBRATE THIS DIVERSITY 3) PROMOTE HARMONY AMONG DIFFERENT CULTURES IN OUR COMMUNITY. THE FOUNDATION HAS PARTNERED WITH THE LOCAL COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM TO EXPOSE STUDENTS TO DIFFERENT CULTURES AND TEACH THEM TO BE MORE TOLERANT. THE FOUNDATION VISITS CLASSROOMS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY AND ASSISTS THE CLASSES IN CHOOSING A CULTURE TO STUDY AND HELPS EDUCATE THE STUDENTS ON THE CHOSEN CULTURE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL AND CREATIVE MEANS. ONE SUCH LEARNING TECHNIQUE INVOLVES CREATING DECORATIVE MASKS THAT REPRESENT THE CHOSEN CULTURE. THE STUDENTS THEN DISPLAY THEIR ARTWORK AND NEWLY ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AT THE INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL, A FESTIVAL FOR ALL CUMBERLAND COUNTY STUDENTS SPONSORED BY FACES IN THE COMMUNITY AND FAYETTEVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY.
