CHARGED AS A 501(C)3 WITH PROVIDING A STREAM OF EXTERNAL FUNDS TO SCHOOLS WITHIN THE DISTRICT, THE FOUNDATION FOR THE PALM SPRINGS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT REPRESENTS A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP DEDICATED TO SUPPLEMENTING FEDERAL AND STATE SUPPORT OF EDUCATION. WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND SUPERINTENDENT, THE FOUNDATION (1) HELPS TO UNDERWRITE EXISTING INITIATIVES AND PILOT NEW INITIATIVES THAT ARE UNFUNDED OR UNDERFUNDED; (2) BUILDS VISIBILITY OF THE DISTRICT'S NEEDS AMONG COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS AND POTENTIAL DONORS, AND (3) FUNCTIONS AS THE FISCAL AGENT FOR EXTERNAL FUNDS THAT COME TO THE DISTRICT, STEWARDING AND PROVIDING FIDUCIARY ADMINISTRATION OF SUCH RESOURCES.
