THE U.S. AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (USAID) CONTRACT PROVIDES 21PSTEM WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PIONEER AN 18-STEP DESIGN PROCESS TO CREATE A FULLY INTEGRATED ADVANCED STEM HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM FOR THE EGYPTIAN MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. THE CURRICULUM IS BACKWARD DESIGNED FROM TEN GRAND CHALLENGES AND UTILIZES RELATED SEMESTER CAPTSONE PROJECTS. 11 STEM HIGH SCHOOLS USE THE CURRICULUM WITH 16 MORE STEM SCHOOLS PLANNED.
US NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION (NSF) EDUCATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES GRANT SEEKS TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND ENSURE THE VITALITY OF THE NATION'S SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) EDUCATION ENTERPRISE. THE EDUCATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES (EHR) COMPONENT OF THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION SPONSORS PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODELS AND STRATEGIES FOR PROVIDING ALL STUDENTS WITH ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY STEM EDUCATION. THE PORTFOLIO OF EHR PROGRAMS IN STEM EDUCATION IS COMPRISED OF EFFORTS SPANNING FROM PRE-K TO 12TH GRADE. THE NSF EDUCATION GRANT ALSO WORKS TO FOCUS ON NEW METHODS OF UNDERSTANDING AND MEASURING TEACHER CHANGE IN SCHOOLS, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "AMBIENT POSITIONAL INSTABILITY".
