NEW YORK MATH CIRCLE (NYMC) IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO ENRICHING AND SUPPLEMENTING MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION IN NEW YORK CITY. NYMC OFFERS INTERESTED STUDENTS FROM AROUND NEW YORK CITY AN OPPORTUNITY TO GROW INTELLECTUALLY AND PERSONALLY THROUGH THE LEARNING OF MATHEMATICS AND RELATED SUBJECTS FROM EXCEPTIONAL TEACHERS IN A FRIENDLY, ENRICHED ATMOSPHERE. IT ENCOURAGES AND SUPPORTS EXCELLENT TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS THROUGH COURSES FOR TEACHERS AND OTHER PROGRAMS.

NEW YORK MATH CIRCLE - MATHEMATICS ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS - DURING FYE 6/30/21, NEW YORK MATH CIRCLE HELD AN INTENSIVE SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM, AND 60 WEEKEND AND SUMMER COURSES FOR STUDENTS: 14 IN THE SUMMER, 20 IN THE FALL SEMESTER, AND 26 IN THE SPRING. 989 REGISTRANTS WERE SERVED, REPRESENTING ABOUT 510 DIFFERENT MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, MANY ATTENDING MORE THAN ONE COURSE. ABOUT 540 CLASSROOM SESSIONS WERE HELD, AND OVER 17,000 INSTRUCTIONAL STUDENT-HOURS WERE PROVIDED. WE AIM TO ENRICH AND SUPPLEMENT MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION IN NEW YORK CITY BY PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH SUPERB INSTRUCTION IN A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE, AND OFFERING MATERIAL NOT USUALLY ENCOUNTERED IN THE REGULAR CURRICULUM. WE ALSO SEEK TO STIMULATE THE ENJOYMENT, APPRECIATION, AND KNOWLEDGE OF MATHEMATICS THROUGH PROBLEM-SOLVING AND GUIDED DISCOVERY, TO STRENGTHEN STUDENTS EXISTING KNOWLEDGE, AND TO CULTIVATE THE MOTIVATION AND CAPACITY FOR FUTURE STUDIES. FURTHERMORE, WE STRIVE TO MAKE THE CLASSES AVAILABLE TO ALL INTERESTED STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL MEANS.
