Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE CANDY PALACE PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM PROMOTES THE IDEA OF CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN THROUGH CREATIVE AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION. THE PROGRAM WAS CREATED IN 2009 WHEN A DAUGHTER OF ONE OF THE FOUNDERS WROTE A BOOK TITLED "IZZY AND THE CANDY PALACE" WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF RAISING FUNDS TO HELP FEED HUNGRY CHILDREN IN AMERICA. SINCE THEN, SEVERAL OTHER BOOKS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL. THIS PROGRAM EMPOWERS OTHER CHILDREN TO RECOGNIZE THAT, EVEN AT A YOUNG AGE, THEY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR WORLD. AS A RESULT, 100% OF THE PROFITS FROM THIS BOOK WILL BE DONATED TO THE SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK. IN 2013, 1900 BOOKS WERE SOLD. THE CANDY PALACE PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY HOLDING A BIENNIAL WRITING CONTEST FOR CHILDREN WHO WANT TO USE THEIR CREATIVITY TO HELP OTHER CHILDREN. THE WINNING STORY WILL BE TRANSFORMED INTO A PROFESSIONALLY ILLUSTRATED AND PUBLISHED CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOK, FROM WHICH ALL PROFITS WILL BE DONATED TO HELP FEED CHILDREN IN AMERICA.
